Reference: PR/603820_1786710364Sourcing Portfolio ManagerAuburn, CA (Hybrid | 50% Onsite Required)Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead category strategy development and execution across critical spend areas supporting a large industrial and power generation organization. This individual will serve as a strategic business partner to senior leadership, driving sourcing initiatives that deliver value through market intelligence, supplier engagement, and data-driven decision-making.The ideal candidate brings a strong strategic sourcing background, executive presence, and experience leading procurement teams within industrial, manufacturing, construction, utility, or related environments.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute comprehensive category strategies aligned with business objectives and operational priorities.Lead strategic sourcing initiatives across categories including Construction Services, Major Equipment, and/or Direct Materials.Conduct market intelligence and supplier analyses to identify cost savings, risk mitigation, and value creation opportunities.Partner with business stakeholders and Power Generation leadership to influence sourcing decisions and procurement strategies.Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations, sourcing recommendations, and business cases to senior leadership teams.Drive supplier selection, negotiations, contracting, and ongoing supplier performance management.Lead, mentor, and develop sourcing professionals and category leaders while fostering a high-performance procurement organization.Utilize analytics and market insights to support procurement decision-making and long-term category planning.Required QualificationsProven experience in strategic sourcing and category management, including developing and implementing category strategies.Industry experience in one or more of the following areas:Construction ServicesMajor EquipmentDirect MaterialsPrior people leadership experience managing sourcing professionals, category managers, or category leaders.Strong executive presence with demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and present to executive leadership.Experience conducting market research, developing sourcing strategies, and aligning procurement initiatives with broader business goals.Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.Ideal Candidate ProfileStrategic sourcing leader with experience supporting large-scale industrial, manufacturing, construction, utility, or power generation organizations.Trusted business partner capable of building credibility with senior leadership and driving procurement outcomes through influence rather than authority.Strong analytical mindset with the ability to leverage market data and business insights to inform sourcing strategies.Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with significant exposure to executive-level decision-makers.
