Rental Account Manager

Overview The Rental Account Manager serves as the primary Rental Sales/Marketing function at the BU level, supporting the commercial rental and trailer services product lines. The goal is to increase Ryder’s rental sales presence in the BU, generate profitable new accounts while retaining existing ones, and improve rental revenue growth, profitability, and return on assets. Responsibilities Develop leads through cold calls, telephone solicitation, and customer visits. Use product knowledge to assess customer needs and develop proposals. Coordinate with rental operations to ensure equipment availability. Lead branch-level marketing activities and train rental sales representatives in telemarketing to prospective and current customers. Contact decision makers and develop competitive proposals. Provide ongoing customer retention through visits and phone calls, handling complaints and addressing long‑term rental needs. Schedule retention visits to maintain relationships with long‑term rental customers. Prepare proposals, contracts, and follow‑up correspondence; maintain customer files. Ensure accuracy of customer data in the DPS system and maintain FIS integrity. Process credit approvals, collections of receivables, maintenance-PM status updates, and scheduling. Follow company procedures and collection guidelines within specified time frames. Skills and Abilities Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to build strong customer relationships and work independently with minimal supervision. High energy, self‑directed, self‑motivated; able to work as part of a team. Flexibility to operate and self‑driven to excel in a fast‑paced environment. Capable of multitasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills. Highly thorough and dependable, committed to ethical business practices. Maintains a high degree of professionalism and creates professional relationships at all levels of the organization. Detail oriented with excellent follow‑up practices. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required in Marketing or 5 years equivalent job‑related experience. One (1) year or more sales experience or equivalent sales training required. Three (3) years or more sales experience preferred. One (1) year or more industry experience preferred. DOT regulated.
