Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring consistent application of quality techniques, providing statistical information for quality improvement, and investigating, analyzing, and resolving quality problems. Key Responsibilities Identify and record problems relating to the product lines, initiate actions to prevent the recurrence of any nonconformities relating to products and processes. Assist in the evaluation and qualification of new product designs and new supplier materials via a new product development process. Monitor and support site quality objectives by maintaining metrics, and report these on a monthly basis. Lead performance improvement projects to increase facility capability to consistently meet Internal and customer requirements. Participate in documentation review, approval, revision, or creation as necessary to ensure processes are properly documented. Participate in the creation of First Article Inspection (FAI) of new product designs to ensure all requirements are met. Investigate and resolve customer complaints, striving to achieve customer satisfaction and prevent recurring issues. Skills, knowledge & expertise Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment with a Quality Emphasis. Electrical Engineering is preferred. ASQ and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is preferred. Experience working in a manufacturing factory certified to AS9100, or ISO 9001. Experience with various quality system improvement tools, including 8D, Lean Six Sigma, 5 Whys, Pareto Analysis, FMEA, Control Plans, Kaizen, CPK, Fishbone, etc. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Work well in a high-volume production environment with minimal supervision. Project management experience is preferred. Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ERP/MRP systems. Must be able to read and understand blueprints / CAD Drawings and utilize equipment such as calipers, calculators, computers, and comply with safety protocols in chemical and electronics laboratories. The starting base pay for this role is $75,000 to $90,000 per year. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining us, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company.
