AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC (LEAD) (CLASS CODE 1935)

Perform skilled and supervisory work at the Master Technician level in the maintenance and repair of gasoline, diesel and alternative fuel powered automotive and related equipment. Work involves the performance of skilled tasks in the mechanical repair and maintenance of automobiles, light and heavy‑duty trucks, motor graders, bulldozers, mowers, ATVs, tractors, and other standard and specialized equipment. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. * Prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify education and licence(s) claimed by the applicant to qualify for this classification. Valid driver's licence. * Prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify the licence. Either: permanent status with the City of New Orleans and three (3) years experience as an Automotive Mechanic III, Automotive Maintenance Technician, Automotive Maintenance Specialist, or equivalent; or five (5) years journeyman experience as an automotive mechanic.
