Commercial Lead (M&E) Location: Jersey, United Kingdom. Contract: Permanent, Full‑time. On‑site. Occasional travel. Requisition ID: 2877. About the Role You will oversee strategic planning, procurement, and implementation to ensure services and projects meet quality, safety, and operational standards across sectors. Manage significant budgets and support MEP unbundled strategy, reducing reliance on external suppliers to improve quality, safety, and project control. Key Responsibilities Ensure disciplined reporting of commissioning technical performance of allocated projects. Maintain commissioning compliance across region and allocated projects. Implement regional commissioning technical strategy supporting the wider business strategy relating to People, Innovation, Sustainability, D&I, Safety, Quality, Profit and Customers. Manage and resolve conflicts related to commissioning sub‑contractor performance. Develop strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Build and maintain commissioning contractor relationships and implement strategy. Provide robust commissioning technical business reporting and compliance. Contribute to the development and implementation of the SES technical strategy. Manage commissioning design risk and opportunities with a transparent approach. Direct the development and implementation of commissioning strategies for NHS services or local council social care to enhance service quality. Lead teams, build relationships, and ensure final deliverables meet required standards, including NHS England frameworks. Qualifications Substantial experience with a Tier 1 Contractor/MEP subcontractor (commissioning delivery or MEP contracting). Demonstrable success in commissioning delivery across multiple project typologies/sectors/values. Experience of technical responsibility 50M+ for M&E packages. Multiple examples of relevant project and sector experience. Robust understanding of the project lifecycle. Experience in commissioning design, technical risk, and opportunity management. Subject matter expertise in commissioning design approaches, technologies, solutions, and standards. Effective communication skills. A people motivator who inspires engagement. Upholds integrity in all aspects of work. Commissioning Specialist Association (CSA) membership (advantageous). Knowledge of UK building regulations.
