Customer Service Rep

Position Purpose:

The primary function of Inside Sales is to provide product knowledge on building materials including drywall insulation metal studs for drywall ceiling systems stucco construction tools construction safety items drywall compound and accessories for the drywall industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Taking orders at the sales counter and over the phone.
• Building relationships with customers.
• Ability to use company computer system to enter orders.
• Complete sales orders and tender cash sales.
• Develop product knowledge to assist customers with purchases.
• Collaborate with Outside Sales Reps and Sales Managers to determine necessary strategic sales approaches.
• Overcome objections of prospective customers.
• Emphasize product/service features and benefits quote prices discuss credit terms and prepare sales order forms and/or reports.

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

• Reports to the Inside Sales Supervisor/Manager Sales Manager Customer Service Supervisor Showroom Manager and/or Branch/Area Manager

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in stationary position in an office environment: 50%
• Will frequently move about inside the office to access files office machinery etc.
• Must be able to operate basic office machinery.
• Must be able to communicate with team and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
• Constantly working in office environment.

Working Conditions:

• Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment.
• Requires extended periods of sitting computer use and telephone communication.
• Frequent use of standard office equipment including computers printers copiers and other business technology.
• Regular interaction with employees customers vendors and other business contacts.
• May require occasional lifting of office supplies or materials up to 15 pounds.
• Ability to maintain focus and productivity while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be a team player demonstrate attention to detail and have good organizational skills.

The base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $20.00 to $25.00 per hour. Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including but not limited to the position being offered location education training and/or experience. SRS Distribution offers additional competitive and non-financial benefits. Hourly associates may be eligible for overtime based on business needs. Depending on the role associates may also be eligible for performance-based bonus programs commissions car allowance or automobile and fuel program and reimbursement for travel expenses in accordance with company travel policy.
