Medical Records Specialist

Cardiovascular Physicians of Delaware Position: Medical Records Specialist Location: in office in Newark, DE Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm Job Summary Prepare patient charts for upcoming appointments in a timely and accurate manner. Duties and Responsibilities Prepare patient charts for upcoming appointments, making sure all tests, etc. have been uploaded into patient charts. Obtain referrals if necessary. Provide records to outside requests following proper protocol. Work independently and set priorities. Maintain strict patient confidentiality. Be proficient in Release of Health Information. Review medical record requests / authorizations for compliancy. Qualifications and Educational Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of EHR. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Cardiac knowledge and Allscripts experience preferred but not required. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Finger dexterity to perform duties such as typing or writing. Ability to speak and hear.
