A bit about us: Based in Roseland, New Jersey, our Real Estate & Land Use Practice Group provides legal representation for commercial property owners, real estate developers, investors, and lenders across the region. We bridge the gap between regulatory approvals and complex transactional deal‑making, guiding projects seamlessly from initial land acquisition and zoning through financing, construction, and final leasing. Why join us? Base Salary: $200,000+ (benchmarked for a candidate with 5-6 years of experience). Billable Requirement: 1,800 hours/year minimum. Bonus Structure Base Billable Bonus triggers at the 1,800-hour minimum. Discretionary Bonus of $10,000–$20,000 annually for hours billed above 1,800. Origination Bonus of 15%. Job Details We are seeking a mid-level Associate Attorney to join a premier New Jersey real estate and land use practice. This unique role offers a 50/50 practice split, working directly alongside two of the firm's Practice Leaders: Redevelopment, Land Use & Zoning and Real Estate. Due to recent client expansion and an internal relocation, this is an opportunity to step into an active desk with a defined partnership track and immediate, dedicated mentorship. Key Responsibilities Redevelopment & Land Use (50%): Secure land use approvals, navigate the New Jersey redevelopment process, and draft agreements (including PILOT financial agreements and economic incentives). Real Estate Transactional (50%): Represent commercial property owners and developers in the acquisition, disposition, leasing, and financing of commercial and multifamily properties. Practice Focus: This is a strictly transactional and regulatory role with zero litigation requirements. Candidate Requirements Experience: 3 to 7 years of legal experience, specifically handling both land use/zoning and transactional real estate matters. Bar Admission: Active admission to the New Jersey Bar in good standing. Work Style: Comfortable handling a dual-focus desk and collaborating across departments to guide projects from initial concept through final construction and leasing.
