About the Middle Atlantic PGA The Middle Atlantic Section of the PGA (MAPGA), located in Stafford, Virginia, is one of the 41 Sections of the Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) of America, headquartered in Frisco, Texas. The MAPGA consists of over 1,200 members and associates in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia (D.C.), as well as small portions of Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The PGA REACH Foundation Middle Atlantic is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and philanthropic entity of the MAPGA, dedicated to impacting the game through youth, military, and community engagement. The mission of MAPGA is to promote enjoyment and involvement in the game of golf and to contribute to the game's growth by providing services to golf professionals and the industry. Opportunity The Executive Director will manage all Section business activities and programs in accordance with National and Section objectives. The ED will report to the Board of Directors while having an active role in both short- and long-term oversight of our section activities and direction. The ED will serve as a highly visible, trusted public-facing representative of the MAPGA, while working in close, collaborative partnership with the Board of Directors and volunteer leadership to execute their vision. The ED will be solely responsible for managing staff, assets, and providing programs, including education, tournaments, player engagement, meetings, and fundraising activities. Additionally, the Executive Director will ensure ongoing and regular communication with the Members and Associates and serve in the capacity of Staff Liaison for the Middle Atlantic PGA REACH Foundation. Essential Duties Executive management and administration of the Section, responsible for the Association's day-to-day operations. Operate with the utmost transparency, accountability, and integrity, setting a high professional standard for how the MAPGA represents itself internally and externally. Update, implement, and enforce the Section constitution, bylaws, regulations, and policies established by the Board of Directors. Shall be authorized to speak for the Section, enter into contracts while keeping the Section Officers and Board advised. Accountable for all financial affairs of the Section and its subsidiary companies, maintaining proper internal controls. Office Administration and General Policy Report and be accountable to the Officers of the Section. Invest heavily in staff growth, professional development, and mentorship, fostering a collaborative team culture where employees feel valued and heard. Act as an advocate and protector of staff culture, empowering the team to understand their roles and execute autonomously without constant oversight. Hire, develop, coach, counsel, review, and, if necessary, terminate employees; establish and implement employment and office policies. Strategic Planning (Long and Short Term) Coordinate and supervise the preparation of clear 3-, 5-, and 10-year long- and short-range business objectives for the Section. Drive the strategic modernization of the Section, including upgrading technology, communication systems, and operational efficiencies to better support members and staff. Supervise formulation of the annual Section Business Plan and ensure its submission to the PGA of America. Sponsor & Partner Development Lead aggressive and innovative revenue diversification efforts to offset the loss of traditional income sources and ensure long-term financial sustainability. Work closely with the Director of Partnerships on the procurement and fulfillment of all corporate sponsorship and partnership sales for the Section. PGA REACH Foundation Serve in the capacity of Staff Liaison, managing and supervising staff to administer all Foundation programs. Grow the PGA REACH Foundation as a premier platform for charitable impact, with a specific focus on expanding and securing funding for the PGA HOPE program. Association Representation & Member Program Management Attend all Board Meetings, General Membership Meetings, and PGA of America National meetings. Administer education programs and the annual Section tournament schedule in cooperation with the respective committees. Experience in general association management, developing budgets, and managing financial assets. Experience and Qualifications Four-year college degree or higher preferred. A PGA of America or CMAA Member in good standing is preferred; non-PGA applicants will be considered. Proven ability with sponsor procurement and foundation fundraising. Compensation and Benefits Salary Range $200,000 – $220,000 Potential Additional Performance Bonus of $10,000 – $30,000 Additional Benefits Flexible work schedule with hybrid/remote options.
