As CK Family Services’ Community Engagement Liaison, you will spend much of your time in the community—initiating conversations, meeting new people, representing our mission, opening doors, and moving promising relationships toward referrals, foster parent inquiries, donations, resources, partnerships, and other measurable outcomes. This is a visible, fast-moving role for someone who enjoys influencing action, maintaining momentum, and confidently following up even when the first response is “not now."Job SummaryThe Community Engagement Liaison is a relationship-centered, externally focused member of the Marketing and Communications (MarComm) team and is supervised by the Chief Business Development Officer. The position builds trusted community relationships, creates access to new audiences and partners, and converts engagement opportunities into measurable value for CK Family Services.The Community Engagement Liaison represents CK Family Services in the community, conducts purposeful outreach, develops and maintains stakeholder relationships, and moves promising conversations toward clear next steps. Depending on assignment, the position may generate referrals for children’s mental and behavioral health services, foster parent inquiries, donations, resources, partnerships, access opportunities, or other defined value.Key OutputsAchievement of established minimum production targets for documented referrals, foster parent inquiries, donations, resources, access opportunities, collaborations, community intelligence, or other defined value associated with assigned programs, initiatives, and strategic priorities.Purposeful execution and follow-through on approved engagement strategies that produce assigned outcomes, supported by established goals, performance information, coaching, and internal resources.Timely documentation and communication of useful stakeholder feedback, recurring community themes, barriers, opportunities, concerns, and other observations that may inform leadership decisions or adjustments.Primary OutcomeCK Family Services consistently acquires the referrals, foster parent inquiries, donations, resources, access, collaborations, and community intelligence needed to advance assigned programs, initiatives, and strategic priorities.Success FactorsSuccess in this position requires strong relationship-building skills, credibility, curiosity, responsiveness, sound judgment, and consistent follow-through. The Community Engagement Liaison must be able to understand stakeholder interests, identify shared value, and move conversations toward clear next steps and measurable results.The employee must learn assigned CK Family Services programs and priorities well enough to represent them accurately, recognize useful opportunities, and remain within established authority. The position also requires comfort with clear production goals and a willingness to use provided tools, reports, coaching, and support to improve outreach and follow-up.The Community Engagement Liaison must communicate useful community feedback, barriers, concerns, and opportunities to internal leaders and work effectively within a structure in which the Chief Business Development Officer provides direct management and the Director of Community Engagement provides functional leadership and guidance.Support ProvidedThe Community Engagement Liaison is supported through established goals, approved engagement strategies, messaging, CRM workflows, reporting templates, performance dashboards, training, administrative processes, and access to internal subject-matter experts.The Chief Business Development Officer provides direct management, priorities, performance expectations, accountability, and final direction. The Director of Community Engagement provides functional leadership, coaching, relationship-development guidance, and support for community-engagement activity.The Community Engagement Liaison is expected to use these resources to remain organized, document important activity, maintain purposeful follow-up, review provided performance information, and improve results over time. Broader analysis, strategic prioritization, and organizational decision-making remain the responsibility of leadership.Work Location and EnvironmentThis position is based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The Community Engagement Liaison works primarily from home and/or from the employee’s location within the DFW metroplex while carrying out position responsibilities. CK Family Services provides access to shared workspace at its three DFW metroplex locations for optional use and occasional business needs. This position is not assigned to a dedicated office or permanent workstation. In-person attendance at a CK Family Services office is required only as needed for meetings, training, or other business purposes.Position Schedule and AvailabilityThis is a salaried position funded with the expectation of a full-time, 40-hour work week. The position generally operates with primary availability during traditional business hours; however, the nature of the work requires flexibility to perform work activities at times that support goal attainment and mission progression. Evening and other nontraditional work hours may be necessary based on candidate availability, meetings, events, and position demands. Performance in this role is measured primarily by achievement of assigned outputs and contribution to the position’s primary outcome.General ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and appropriately leverage professional relationships with customers, clients, referral sources, service providers, community organizations, faith communities, schools, businesses, public agencies, advocacy groups, donors, volunteers, and other relevant stakeholders.Conduct purposeful outreach intended to generate assigned referrals, foster parent inquiries, donations, resources, access opportunities, collaborations, community intelligence, or other defined value.Represent CK Family Services professionally at meetings, presentations, outreach activities, community events, partnership activities, fundraising activities, and other external opportunities.Move promising stakeholder conversations toward clear next steps through timely follow-up, relationship development, information sharing, introductions, meetings, referrals, requests, or other approved actions.Develop and maintain a working understanding of the services, eligibility requirements, service areas, capacity, priorities, production needs, and engagement opportunities associated with assigned CK Family Services programs, initiatives, and strategic priorities.Engage regularly with designated internal leaders and staff to understand current referral, inquiry, fundraising, resource, access, partnership, and community-information needs.Work from approved engagement strategies, goals, priorities, messaging, and production targets established by the Chief Business Development Officer and supported by the Director of Community Engagement.Identify and connect external stakeholder needs, resources, and opportunities with relevant CK Family Services programs, initiatives, and priorities while seeking guidance before making commitments outside established authority.Listen carefully for useful community feedback, recurring concerns, misconceptions, referral barriers, access challenges, stakeholder reactions, emerging opportunities, and other relevant observations.Communicate important stakeholder and community observations to the Chief Business Development Officer, Director of Community Engagement, and other appropriate internal leaders in a timely and clear manner.Use CK Family Services-provided systems and templates to maintain timely records of key stakeholder relationships, opportunities, commitments, follow-up actions, referrals, inquiries, donations, resources, collaborations, and outcomes.Participate in routine performance-review and reporting processes by providing accurate activity and outcome information, reviewing provided reports or dashboards, and using coaching to strengthen outreach and follow-up.Implement approved adjustments to engagement activity, messaging, targeting, follow-up, or relationship-development approaches based on leadership direction, coaching, and performance information.Prepare and deliver clear presentations, meeting summaries, stakeholder updates, and other communication materials using approved tools, templates, messaging, and support.Participate in CK Family Services meetings, training, planning sessions, coaching, and other internal activities necessary to maintain knowledge, alignment, and effectiveness.Protect confidential and sensitive organizational, stakeholder, client, and consumer information and follow CK Family Services procedures relevant to community engagement.Travel locally as needed to support meetings, outreach, events, presentations, partnership activity, and other position-related responsibilities.Perform other duties as assigned in support of the purpose, outputs, and outcome of the position.Note: Items 1 through 17 are essential tasks of this job.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required.One to two years of experience in community engagement, outreach, relationship management, recruitment, customer service, nonprofit services, sales, ministry, volunteer coordination, public-facing support, or a related area preferred.Relevant volunteer service, internship experience, community leadership, or other demonstrated experience may be considered in place of paid professional experience.College coursework, vocational training, or an associate or bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, business, community development, human services, or a related field is preferred but not required.Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and maintain positive relationships with people from varied backgrounds, organizations, and professional roles.Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to represent CK Family Services professionally in person, by telephone, through virtual meetings, and through digital communication channels.Ability to listen carefully, recognize useful community feedback, and communicate important observations clearly to internal leaders.Ability to initiate outreach, move conversations toward next steps, and maintain persistent and professional follow-up.Comfort working toward clear production goals involving referrals, inquiries, donations, resources, partnerships, access opportunities, or other assigned value.Ability to use provided performance information, coaching, tools, and support to strengthen outreach, follow-up, and results.Ability to remain responsive across multiple stakeholder relationships and use provided systems, workflows, and support to manage follow-up.Ability to learn and clearly communicate information about assigned CK Family Services programs, services, priorities, capacity, and community-engagement needs.Ability to work from established goals and approved strategies while also demonstrating initiative, creativity, sound judgment, adaptability, and appropriate independence.Ability to use Salesforce, Microsoft Office, virtual meeting platforms, social media, communication systems, document-storage platforms, and other technology required for engagement, documentation, coordination, and reporting.Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment.Ability to work effectively across possible assignments supporting foster parenting, children’s mental and behavioral health, brand development, fund development, or other CK Family Services priorities.Ability to work effectively within a structure that separates direct management accountability from functional leadership and coaching.Demonstrated alignment with the mission, values, brand standards, and service commitments of CK Family Services.Ability to maintain the schedule flexibility required for community meetings, events, stakeholder availability, and occasional evening or weekend responsibilities.Ability to travel locally as needed and maintain reliable transportation for position-related responsibilities.Ability to pass required background checks and comply with CK Family Services and applicable requirements.Ability to perform the physical and visual demands of the position, including prolonged computer use, telephone and virtual communication, sitting for extended periods, standing or walking during events and meetings, and occasionally
