Overview

Amish Country Gazebos is hiring an Accounting and Payroll Manager to own the books for a growing manufacturer with about 45 employees. You will run payroll, reconcile bank and credit card accounts, and produce the monthly financials leadership uses to make decisions.

This is a hands on role. You will do the work, not assign it. If you are looking for a seat where you review other people's numbers, this is not it.

This is for someone who genuinely loves accounting. You find satisfaction in a clean reconciliation, and you see the story behind a Profit and Loss statement.

How We Work

We are all in on modern tools. QuickBooks, Intuit's AI features, ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI technologies are part of how we operate, not experiments we are debating. If you are skeptical of AI in accounting, this is not the right fit. If you get excited about automating reconciliations, speeding up month end close, and turning reporting that used to take days into something that takes hours, you will thrive here.

Our finance department is a work in progress. Our books and our systems need your expertise. We also have affiliated companies, and over time we want to bring them into one shared finance function so each entity gets stronger and more efficient. You will help us build that.

You Will Have Help

Two team members support the finance and HR function, one a capable bookkeeper and one who currently runs payroll. They will take work off your plate. But the books, the close, and the reconciliations are yours. You must be able to do all of it yourself.

Responsibilities

• Full cycle bookkeeping and general ledger accuracy
• Payroll processing, records, PTO tracking, and compliance
• Bank, credit card, and account reconciliations, done on schedule and done right
• Monthly Profit and Loss, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows
• Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including collections follow through
• Vendor relationships and documentation
• Implementing AI driven efficiency in QuickBooks and our broader financial workflow

Qualifications

• 5+ years in accounting, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and payroll
• Strong command of QuickBooks, including its AI and automation features
• Proven skill reconciling bank and credit card statements
• Complete command of all three core financial statements
• Hands on AP and AR experience
• Active, enthusiastic use of AI tools in your daily work
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• Strong organization, follow through, and attention to detail

Compensation and Benefits

• $104,000 to $120,000 annual salary, exempt, based on experience
• Up to $12,000 annual performance bonus, for total compensation of up to $132,000
• 3 weeks paid time off and 7 paid holidays
• Health insurance, 50 percent of premium on the company plan
• 401(k) matching
• Monday through Friday, standard business hours, with occasional Saturdays
