Labor & Employment Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate Attorney to join a prestigious Am Law firm in Los Angeles, CA .

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 2-4 years of management-side labor and employment experience to join a collaborative practice representing employers in employment counseling and litigation matters. The role offers meaningful client interaction, hands-on responsibility, and the opportunity to work on a broad range of sophisticated workplace issues.

Responsibilities

• Represent employers in labor and employment litigation in state and federal courts.

• Advise management on employment law compliance, workplace policies, employee relations, and risk management.

• Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.

• Conduct legal research and prepare briefs, memoranda, and other litigation filings.

• Participate in court appearances, hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.

• Take and defend depositions, as appropriate.

• Manage multiple litigation and counseling matters while collaborating with clients and legal teams.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

• Active membership in the California Bar .

• 2-4 years of management-side labor and employment law experience.

• Experience providing employment counseling to employers.

• Strong litigation experience, including motion practice, court appearances, and discovery.

• Deposition experience is preferred.

• Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $230,000-$285,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
