Labor & Employment Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate Attorney to join a highly regarded Am Law 100 firm in Los Angeles, California .

This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney with 3–5 years of employment litigation experience to join a nationally recognized Labor & Employment practice handling sophisticated, high-profile matters for employers across a wide range of industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent employers in complex employment litigation in state and federal courts.

• Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.

• Defend clients in wage and hour class actions, Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) representative actions, and single-plaintiff employment matters.

• Represent clients in arbitrations, mediations, and trials.

• Advise employers on litigation strategy and employment law issues arising under California law.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.

• Active membership in the California Bar.

• 3–5 years of labor and employment litigation experience.

• Demonstrated experience handling wage and hour class actions, PAGA representative actions, and single-plaintiff employment claims.

• Prior arbitration, mediation, or trial experience is required.

• Experience with FEHA claims, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and whistleblower matters is preferred.

• Outstanding written and oral advocacy skills, strong analytical abilities, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $260,000–$365,000 , depending on experience and qualifications.
