Qualifications

• 1–3 years of hands-on experience building, assembling, or fabricating physical hardware — maker, trade, or technical background welcomed in lieu of formal experience
• Solid electrical soldering skills including fine-pitch and small component work under magnification
• Experience running and maintaining 3D printers — FDM preferred; Klipper tuning and slicer profile optimization a strong plus
• Familiarity with laser cutters and standard hand and power tools
• Comfortable working with evolving, partially finished designs and able to replicate builds consistently as designs change
• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and BOMs
• Strong attention to detail and a careful, methodical approach to assembly and fabrication
• Basic debug instincts — able to recognize when a unit isn't behaving correctly and run down the problem
• Print farm management experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, and replicate prototype units from engineering designs so new concepts can be tested quickly and reliably
• Rework prototype assemblies as designs iterate, maintaining build quality and consistency throughout
• Operate and maintain 3D printers and laser cutters — keeping machines tuned, parts on schedule, and output quality high
• Perform clean, inspectable electrical soldering on prototype and production assemblies including small components under magnification
• Assist in capturing BOMs and writing work instructions as designs stabilize, enabling a clean handoff from prototype into repeatable production
• Run functional checks on prototype and production units to catch issues before they reach the field
• Support the engineering team directly — working alongside the CTO and engineers to turn designs into working hardware fast
