Position Title: Shop Structural Welder

Location: Casper, WY

Position Summary

The Shop Structural Welder is responsible for the fabrication and welding of structural steel components used in industrial, energy, and construction projects. The individual will perform welding, fitting, layout, and assembly activities while maintaining WSG quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and shop sketches.
• Fit, align, and weld structural steel components.
• Perform MIG, FCAW, and SMAW welding as required.
• Operate cutting torches, grinders, magnetic drills, and other fabrication equipment.
• Ensure fabricated assemblies meet dimensional and quality requirements.
• Complete welds in accordance with applicable codes and project specifications.
• Assist with material handling, rigging, and shop housekeeping activities.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
• Participate in quality inspections and corrective actions when required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of structural welding experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings.
• Proficiency in MIG and FCAW welding processes.
• Experience working with carbon steel and structural assemblies.
• Knowledge of welding symbols and fabrication tolerances.
• Ability to pass applicable welding tests.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Stand, kneel, bend, and work in varying positions for extended periods.
• Ability to work overtime as required.
