Position Title: Shop Pipe Welder

Location: Casper, WY

Position Summary

The Shop Pipe Welder is responsible for welding and fabricating pipe systems for industrial and energy projects. The position requires the ability to weld pipe in multiple positions while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret isometric drawings, spool sheets, and piping specifications.
• Fit and weld carbon steel and stainless-steel piping systems.
• Perform pipe welding using SMAW, GTAW (TIG), and MIG processes as required.
• Complete root, fill, and cap welds to project specifications.
• Verify fit-up, alignment, and dimensions before welding.
• Assist with hydrotest preparation and pipe fabrication activities.
• Safely operate grinders, cutting equipment, beveling tools, and welding equipment.
• Maintain welding records and documentation as required.
• Follow applicable ASME and client quality requirements.
• Maintain housekeeping and assist with material handling within the shop.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial pipe welding experience preferred.
• Ability to pass a 2" 6G pipe welding test.
• Working knowledge of ASME B31.1 and/or B31.3 standards.
• Experience with SMAW and GTAW welding processes.
• Ability to read piping isometrics and fabrication drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, crouch, climb, and work in confined fabrication areas.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.

Preferred Certifications

• ASME Pipe Welding Certification
• NCCER Welding Certification
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
