UNC Health Johnston is seeking an exceptional Cath Lab RN to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in our state‑of‑the‑art cardiac catheterization lab. Summary Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reporting and accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting. Responsibilities Education – Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs, attends education programs, uses patient education materials, and assesses readiness to learn. Evaluation of Care – Identifies expected patient outcomes, seeks guidance, participates in interdisciplinary discussion, communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care. Implementation – Demonstrates competence in care of patients with complex problems, performs bedside point‑of‑care testing, follows nursing standards, prioritizes care, consults resources promptly. Leadership – Develops professional goals, participates in unit goals and improvement activities, uses communication systems, promotes cost‑effective care, provides feedback, ensures a safe environment. Patient Assessment – Recognizes data from complex situations to determine care priorities, synthesizes assessment data, anticipates discharge needs, builds relationships with families. Planning – Collaborates with patient/family to prepare or update the plan of care, utilizes multidisciplinary resources, addresses cultural issues, prioritizes tasks. Research – Reviews relevant journals and brings ideas to staff for practice improvement. Education Requirements Graduation from a school of professional nursing Licensure/Certification Requirements Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
