Title: Senior Product Designer Reports To: Experience Director - Jonathan Kelly Experience Level: 8+ years Employment: Full Time Location: Boston, Princeton, NJ JOB OVERVIEW Candyspace is seeking a logical thinker and creative problem solver to join the ever‑growing UX & Design team. You will work alongside a cross‑functional team of UX/UI designers on projects for global clients, assisting in large product design projects and UX/UI activities. You are knowledgeable in user‑centred design, adept at solving problems and exploring details. You balance real user needs with business requirements to create well‑rounded solutions. You bring creative thinking, fearlessness, and meticulous attention to detail. You will play a leading role in adopting AI within the design practice, exploring how AI tools and workflows improve research, ideation, prototyping, delivery, and team productivity. RESPONSIBILITIES User research Champion research and testing as essential to design practice and mentor others in its application. Research & validation – select appropriate research methods, plan research phases, design effective interviews, tests and surveys. Conduct interviews and extract deep insight. Synthesize complex data into clear, strategic insights and coach others. Problem definition and ideation Use mapping strategically to align stakeholders, influence change, and redesign services or processes. Facilitate advanced ideation sessions, select appropriate techniques, and drive creative exploration to validated outcomes. Information architecture Design scalable IA systems and think beyond interfaces to underlying systems. Produce high‑quality IA that reduces cognitive load and improves task completion speed across complex products. Develop IA diagrams for complex product ecosystems and communicate rationale. Wireframing & prototyping Design holistic product solutions from insight through to execution, translating complexity into simplicity. Produce structured wireframes that accelerate UI and reduce ambiguity. Create sophisticated prototypes simulating complex journeys and logic for validation. UI design Define compelling visual directions rooted in strategy, brand, and emotional proposition. Establish coherent design language with strong hierarchy, consistency, and attention to detail. Ensure UI strengthens usability, clarity, and decision making. Design and evolve design systems, including token structures, scalable components, and governance processes. Accessibility & inclusivity Embed inclusive design principles and promote accessibility as a strategic priority. Demonstrate deep understanding of diverse user barriers and integrate inclusive thinking into system design. Stay current on accessibility standards and support the team in best practice. User empathy & advocacy Place people at the centre of all design decisions and mentor others in translating human needs into meaningful products. Craft emotionally resonant experiences that balance originality, usability, and strategic intent. Advocate for inclusive design and diverse usability testing with clients and stakeholders. AI proficiency Use AI tools confidently to accelerate research, synthesis, ideation, content creation, prototyping, and documentation. Understand when to leverage AI for speed and when human judgment is required. Identify appropriate opportunities for AI within digital products and services. Ensure human needs remain at the centre of AI‑enabled products and design transparent, trustworthy AI experiences. Designing AI experiences Design conversational interfaces, copilots, assistants, or chat‑based experiences that help users complete tasks naturally and efficiently. Design workflows involving AI agents, orchestration, task delegation, or autonomous systems. Design products where humans and AI collaborate effectively, balancing automation, oversight, intervention, and decision making. Take AI‑powered products from discovery through concept development, validation, launch, and optimisation. QUALIFICATIONS Great communicator, able to articulate design solutions passionately. Team player, collaborating with users, stakeholders, and team members. Self‑starter, working through research and inception to high‑fidelity design and implementation. Problem‑solver, creative thinker focused on user needs and delivering business value. Curious and proactive about AI and emerging technologies, exploring how they enhance design processes.
