Administer all purchasing activities within an assigned area Complete price analysis, vendor analysis, and follow-up for basic to moderately complex and costly purchases Ensure orders are delivered timely, accurately, and at best value Explain purchasing policy and resolve requester issues Expedite orders and provide product information and specialized or technical support Understand and explain international shipping terms, policies, and regulations Provide technical support and training to team members, coworkers, and stakeholders Source required goods and services through the entire purchasing process Complete special projects as assigned Foster supplier and partner relationships and ensure high performance and satisfaction Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and contractors Process purchase orders and support procurement and contracts for Church-owned facilities Requirements BA/BS and at least 2 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience Seasoned professional with commensurate understanding and experience in application of effective purchasing principles Up to 15% domestic and international travel for up to 2 weeks at a time Ability to use a computer and learn new technology quickly Excellent negotiation skills Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy Must be willing to work on-site at the Salt Lake City, Utah location 5 days per week during orientation and at least 3 days per week after orientation All positions are subject to full return to office at any time Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in purchasing activities, including vendor analysis, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
