Position Summary

The Manufacturing Wiring Supervisor is responsible for supervising wiring fabrication, assembly, and installation activities across assigned manufacturing locations. This role leads front-line wiring teams, interprets electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, drives workmanship and schedule execution, and enforces safety, quality, and process discipline across the operation.

The position serves as a key link between production, electrical engineering, quality, planning, and operations leadership to ensure wiring work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead, direct, and develop wiring assembly personnel across assigned facilities, lines, or production areas.

Plan and coordinate daily wiring activities to support production schedules, manpower utilization, and on-time completion of assemblies.

Read, interpret, and apply electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of material, work instructions, and related manufacturing documentation.

Partner with Electrical Engineering and other support functions to resolve wiring issues, clarify design intent, identify manufacturability concerns, and improve execution.

Monitor workmanship, routing, terminations, labeling, testing readiness, and overall build accuracy to ensure quality standards are met.

Enforce compliance with applicable electrical codes, internal workmanship requirements, and established manufacturing processes.

Conduct regular floor presence, line checks, and follow-up to verify work is being performed safely, correctly, and efficiently.

Maintain accountability for tools, equipment, consumables, and work areas so teams have the resources needed to perform their work and maintain orderly production areas.

Support labor planning, attendance follow-up, timekeeping coordination, and other day-to-day personnel administration activities for assigned employees.

Deliver toolbox talks, reinforce job safety analyses, address unsafe conditions or behaviors, and uphold all required safety practices.

Drive continuous improvement in quality, productivity, training, standard work, and problem-solving within wiring operations.

Assist in employee selection, onboarding, coaching, performance management, corrective action, and skills development consistent with company policy.

Communicate production risks, staffing concerns, material shortages, quality issues, and schedule constraints to leadership in a timely manner.

Perform other related duties and operational leadership responsibilities as assigned.

Supervisory and Leadership Expectations

Build and maintain a high-accountability, high-safety culture within wiring operations.

Train, mentor, and evaluate wiring personnel for skill growth, cross-training, and performance improvement.

Promote professionalism, consistency, and adherence to company policies, procedures, and standards.

Coordinate work across multiple locations or departments while maintaining clear communication and follow-through.

Required Qualifications

Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in wiring assembly, electrical manufacturing, switchgear/control panel production, or a closely related field.

Prior supervisory, lead, or team-coordination experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and related production documents.

Working knowledge of electrical workmanship expectations and applicable standards, including familiarity with NEC, ANSI, or similar requirements.

Demonstrated ability to organize labor, manage priorities, and coordinate execution across multiple work areas or sites.

Experience managing tools, consumables, and production support needs in a manufacturing environment.

Strong communication, troubleshooting, coaching, and decision-making skills.

Ability to uphold safety requirements and lead toolbox talks, JSAs, and related safety activities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in switchgear, controls, power distribution equipment, or other custom electrical manufacturing environments.

Experience working closely with electrical engineering, quality, and planning teams in a made-to-order manufacturing operation.

Bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish) are a plus, where business needs support it.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position works primarily in a manufacturing environment and may require movement between production areas and facilities.

The role may involve standing, walking, bending, reaching, using stairs, and occasional lifting of materials or tools consistent with business needs and safe work practices.

Use of required personal protective equipment and adherence to all safety rules is mandatory.
