Lead Organizer (Supervisor) SEIU Local 2015 is seeking experienced and dynamic Lead Organizers (Supervisors) to serve as frontline leaders within the organizing function. This role reports into the organizing leadership structure and is responsible for supervising Organizer staff, driving campaign execution, and delivering measurable outcomes across membership growth, leadership development, and worker mobilization. Key Responsibilities Supervise, coach, and develop Organizer staff to achieve organizing and campaign goals Provide ongoing performance feedback, coaching, and corrective action when necessary Develop and implement individual staff development plans Support hiring, onboarding, and training of organizing staff Foster a culture of accountability, growth, and continuous learning Lead and execute organizing campaigns, including membership growth, COPE recruitment, contract campaigns, and strikes Translate regional and statewide strategies into actionable campaign plans Drive measurable outcomes in worker engagement, leader development, and mobilization Ensure campaigns are executed with consistency, discipline, and strategic alignment Manage assigned turf and oversee team performance across organizing activities Coordinate and lead staff and member teams in campaign planning and execution Ensure effective use of time, staff capacity, and resources to meet campaign goals Monitor progress and adjust strategies to ensure successful outcomes Partner with Political, Communications, and Community teams to align organizing strategies Support integrated campaign efforts across departments Contribute to broader organizational and statewide initiatives Develop and oversee daily, weekly, and monthly work plans for staff and campaigns Track and analyze key performance metrics, including membership growth, COPE participation, and leadership development Use data and reporting to guide decision‑making and improve outcomes Ensure accountability to goals, timelines, and performance expectations Model SEIU Local 2015’s core values: Leadership, Compassion, Empowerment, Accountability, Transparency, and Excellence Foster an inclusive, anti‑racist, and equity‑centered team culture Provide leadership and stability during high‑pressure organizing environments Promote a culture of respect, collaboration, and shared accountability Qualifications Required Experience 3+ years of union, labor, or community organizing experience Minimum 6 months of direct staff supervision and development Demonstrated success leading organizing campaigns or initiatives Experience achieving measurable outcomes related to membership growth, mobilization, or campaign execution Preferred Experience Experience leading bargaining campaigns, strikes, or large‑scale organizing efforts Experience working within a union or labor environment Knowledge of the long‑term care industry and labor relations frameworks (e.g., NLRB, PERB) Core Competencies Leadership & Team Development – Builds, coaches, and holds teams accountable to high performance Strategic Thinking & Execution – Translates vision into actionable campaign strategies Results Orientation – Drives measurable outcomes and owns performance Coaching & Performance Management – Develops others through feedback, accountability, and growth planning Equity & Cultural Competence – Leads inclusively across diverse communities Communication & Influence – Motivates, aligns, and leads through strong communication Adaptability & Resilience – Thrives in high‑pressure, fast‑paced environments Data‑Driven Decision Making – Uses metrics and insights to guide strategy Work Environment & Travel Requirements Field‑based role operating in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment Frequent travel required across assigned regions Must be available for evenings, weekends, and extended hours as needed Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and required automobile insurance Supervision This position reports to a Coordinator, Deputy Director, or Director.
