Role: Experienced or Licensed Veterinary Technician Status: Full-time Salary: $22 - $30 per hour based on experience and licensure Schedule: M-F w/ rotating Saturdays. This position is for a room tech, meaning that the primary responsibility of the technician would be assisting our veterinarians with appointments and outpatient procedures. There is opportunity to advance to a surgical assistant, but this will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis. Responsibilities include: Appointment intake and assisting veterinarians with exams Venipuncture and IV catheter placement Knowledge of standard and fear‑free restraint of dogs and cats Performing in‑house laboratory tests (ELISA tests, CBC/Chemistries, urinalysis, blood smear preparation and interpretation, cytology preparation and interpretation) Outpatient procedures such as administration of subcutaneous fluids, administration and understanding of various injectable and oral medications, anal gland expression, nail trims, and performing radiographs Knowledge of and ability to administer vaccines Communicating with clients about patient care and home instructions Using an electronic medical record program (AVImark) to input charges, fill prescriptions, and document patient assessments accordingly Acting as a phone liaison between veterinarians and clients to answer medical questions, provide lab results, and help schedule surgeries.
