Licensed Veterinary Technician - Neurology

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Veterinary Technician to work in our Neurology Department. We are now offering a Sign-On Bonus for up to $12,000! + optional moving allowance if a qualified candidate is relocating! Our 20,000-square-foot hospital underwent a full remodel of the ICU and reception entrance completed in summer 2022. The remodel of the ICU now houses a brand-new CT (64 slice). The hospital also houses an on-site MRI, full complement of orthopedic surgical equipment, laparoscopy, thoracoscopy, and arthroscopy. This hospital has an internal medicine service with state-of-the-art endoscopy, ultrasound, and complete ancillary radiographic diagnostic capabilities. Pay: $30.00 - $42.00 / hour This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system. As a Neurology Veterinary Technician, you will: Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment. Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure. Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients. Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation. Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues. Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR. Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration. Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels. Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
