Job Details:


• Work day shifts on a 16-bed Medical Surgical unit
• CNA to patient ratio of 1:7-16 (CNAs assigned when 7+ patients on unit)
• 1 year acute care experience required
• First time travelers and duos welcome
• Job duties include taking vitals, blood glucose monitoring, patient care, and assistance with foley and IV removal
• Weekend requirement: every 3rd weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Holiday requirement: work 2 out of 3 holidays
• Call/standby requirement with 45-minute response time for low census situations
• Floating available to Emergency Department for additional hours (optional)
• Required certification: BLS (AHA)
• Any color solid scrubs required
• 12 hours of orientation (4 hours CBT, 8 hours floor training)
• Charting system: Cerner
• Must clock in and out at facility
• Flexible scheduling to help fill gaps in permanent staffing
• Common patient diagnoses include pneumonia/COVID, post-operative knee/hip patients, and fall-related injuries

This medical center operates as a Level 4 trauma facility providing acute care services to the community. The facility features a supportive work environment with charge nurses who take patient assignments and experienced nurse supervisors covering both emergency and floor units. The management team includes former travelers who understand the unique needs of contract staff, creating a welcoming atmosphere for temporary healthcare professionals.
