Legal Intern

This is a part-time role for a Legal Intern based in Nashville, TN. The Legal Intern will be responsible for managing client onboarding processes, including gathering client information, coordinating initial consultations, and maintaining accurate records. Ideal candidates will have completed 1L course work and be available for in-office work at least 2 days per week. Responsibilities also include responding to client inquiries professionally, assessing potential cases, and ensuring a seamless intake process to support the legal team. The intern will also assist attorneys with legal research, drafting and reviewing contracts, pleadings, and other legal documents related to construction, real estate, and corporate matters. Day-to-day tasks include organizing case files, preparing summaries of legal issues, and supporting client meetings through note-taking and follow-up correspondence. The intern will help with document management, court filing preparation, and maintaining accurate records. This position offers direct exposure to active matters and collaboration with attorneys on practical solutions for clients. Qualifications Strong foundation in Law, with interest in construction, real estate, and corporate practice areas. Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, such as drafting memoranda, contracts, pleadings, and correspondence. Effective Communication skills, including clear writing, professional email etiquette, friendly phone presence, and the ability to present research findings. 2+ years experience in customer-facing office setting Comfortable discussing fees and engagement processes Highly organized with attention to detail Reliable transportation with Driver's License and car insurance Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited law school; good academic standing preferred. Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management in a fast-paced environment. Comfort using legal research platforms and standard office software (e.g., Westlaw/Lexis, Word, Excel). Professionalism, integrity, and willingness to learn through feedback and collaboration. Key Responsibilities Answer and manage incoming phone calls, emails, and website inquiries Conduct structured intake interviews using firm-approved scripts Gather and document relevant case information accurately Identify qualified matters based on firm criteria Schedule consultations for attorneys Send follow-up communications and engagement documentation Conversion & Revenue Support Follow up with warm leads who have not yet retained Maintain clean and accurate case management data Flag urgent or high-value matters for immediate review Administrative & Support Duties Prepare consultation summaries for attorneys Assist with client onboarding documentation Maintain organized intake tracking reports Support office administrative tasks as needed Run errands around Middle TN as needed Assist with attorney scheduling Legal Assistance Draft motions, orders, memoranda, and other filings as directed by attorneys Draft letters and other correspondence as directed Participate in weekly case meetings Research projects as directed Update/edit/suggest social media and blog posts #J-18808-Ljbffr
