Job Title: RN - Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years of Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) experience required License: RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, EFM, NRP required Must-Have: Experience with all aspects of LDRP patient care Experience circulating for C-sections Experience with newborn care, including heel sticks, 24-hour testing, NAS scoring, and lactation support Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for the Labor & Delivery/Postpartum unit. This is a 12-hour night shift position. The facility has 174 licensed beds and is a teaching hospital with community nursing programs. There is a minimum requirement of 2 years of LDRP experience. The unit consists of 18 labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum beds, along with OB triage and operating rooms. The average number of deliveries is between 40 to 65 per month. Patient ratios will follow AWHONN guidelines. Support staff includes 1 CNA per shift and a core team of 4 nurses. Additional roles on the unit include a receptionist and a charge nurse, who will have a reduced patient assignment. Floating may be required within the region and scope of practice. Travelers will need to float to all locations as needed. Weekend rotation is required every other week, and travelers will work 75% of holidays. Up to 6 days off can be approved, excluding holidays, with contracted hours extended if unable to meet them. The schedule is set on a 6-week cycle. Candidates must possess strong skills in LDRP support and collaboration with various healthcare professionals, including hospitalists, physicians, and lactation consultants. All staff will utilize EPIC for electronic medical records, Alaris for IV pumps, Omnicell for med dispensing, and Phillips/GE for fetal monitoring and newborn care equipment. Experience in this dynamic environment is essential for ensuring high-quality patient care.
