Lab Assistant

Labcorp seeks a Lab Assistant for its Portland, Oregon facility to handle clinical specimen processing, preparation, and data management on the third shift. The role involves specimen handling, equipment maintenance, and adherence to laboratory safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Receive, sort, and prepare clinical specimens for testing and analysis
• Scan and enter specimen and patient information into systems
• Monitor lab equipment function and perform routine maintenance
• Identify and troubleshoot specimen-related issues
• Maintain clean and safe work environment and replenish supplies

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
• Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
• Capable of sitting and standing for extended periods
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
