Senior Data Specialist

The Senior Data Specialist position is a senior level position operating under the direction of more senior Contractor IT staff. Provides oversight functions for Data Specialists performing file manipulation, loading, conversion services, exports, and productions and quality checks of loads and exports. Develops, evaluates and modifies methodologies and procedures for manipulating files for use with COTS products and litigation support applications. Performs quality assurance of all EFP services. Responsible for ensuring that incoming productions are made pursuant to the applicable ESI specifications and, when deficiencies are found, provides the EFP Manager with detailed notice of deficiencies. Responsibilities Manage and execute all aspects of eDiscovery data processing and data loading, including processing of raw data and loading of load‑ready data sets. Process both standard data types and special data formats that may be proprietary, mobile device, social media, forensic images, audio/video, etc. Process mobile devices, creating RSMF files for loading text messages to Relativity. Work with proprietary databases, reports and other non-standard file types. Assist in the migration of data from Relativity Server to RelOne. Manage and execute productions from start to finish, including discussion of production protocols with the case team at the start of the production process and related questions about the production. Communicate directly with legal teams by advising them of errors and issues pertaining to the data sets and recommending fixes as appropriate. Assist junior team members by providing guidance, instruction, and troubleshooting. Perform assigned QC and QA tasks. Participate in teleconferences with producing parties when technical issues need to be discussed and clarified. Track and update stats and statuses for all work in the tracking program. Provide regular and ad‑hoc reporting. This is a full‑time position (40 hours a week). Requirements Must be able to obtain and maintain Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) facility credentials/authorization. US Citizenship is required for MRPT credentials at this work location. Requires knowledge of litigation discovery process and the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) workflow. Knowledge of Government’s IT environment, including office automation networks, PC and server‑based applications preferred. Working knowledge of personal computers, including Windows, document review software, and encryption methods. Experience with LAW, IPRO, Relativity, RelOne or other document processing platform. Familiarity with ICONECT, Relativity, MS Office Suite, and West LiveNote valued. At least five years’ experience performing eDiscovery roles including but not limited to electronic file processing (EFP), image and data file conversion, data culling using review tools, quality assurance, database loads and retrieval, and data analysis. Undergraduate degree preferred—preferably in computer science or related field. Preferred Qualifications Expert‑level knowledge and skill in using Relativity/Relativity One, LAW, and Concordance. Everlaw experience is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Should be highly technical and understand Oracle and SQL systems. Should be able to create Python scripts. Be willing to work on a flexible or deadline‑driven schedule including occasional evenings and weekends. Compensation $90,000 The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good‑faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued.
