Key responsibilities of the Polysomnographer include:
- Conduct sleep studies and calibrations for pulmonary and cardiology patients
- Utilize equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, and ASV machines
- Score and interpret sleep studies using NATUS and EPIC charting systems
- Facilitate patient comfort and safety during diagnostic procedures
Requirements of the Polysomnographer include:
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) and Certified Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Proficient in using NATUS software and EPIC for documentation
