Among the notable recognitions, the city received gold certification as a Community for all Ages and was designated a Walk Friendly Community and Bicycle Friendly Community.The Fleet Manager, under general guidance of the Deputy Director of Public Works/Operations, manages and oversees the City’s vehicle and heavy equipment fleet. Oversees central maintenance garage operations; coordinates the vehicle and equipment replacement program; and manages the Fleet Division. Assists user departments with questions, service coordination, scheduling, and customer service performance for internal and outsource repairs; and acquisition and disposition of vehicles/ equipment. As a representative of management, supports the mission, vision, strategic plan, goals and decisions of the department and the City.Salary range: $78,249-$100,159 **Job Scope:**Supervises, coordinates and prioritizes daily activities of direct reports. Participates in the preparation, administration and monitoring of the division’s budget. **Minimum Qualifications:*** Bachelor’s Degree required in automotive science or related field.* Five (5) of experience in fleet repairs and management in a related field or equivalent combination.* Valid state Commercial Driver License and acceptable driving record required. **Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*** Knowledge of general mechanics and management of a repair shop.* Skills in computer operations, quality control, typing, and safety practices.* Ability to guide, train, direct and motivate employees;* Ability to organize and supervise the activities of others;* Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing;* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and with suppliers or the public as needed.
