Controls Technician

Job Description Job Description What We're Looking For We are seeking an experienced Controls Technician to support automated manufacturing equipment across multiple production lines. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting PLC-controlled machinery, diagnosing electrical issues, and improving equipment reliability in a modern manufacturing environment. You will work with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, electrical controls, and industrial automation systems while helping minimize downtime and keep operations running safely and efficiently. If you're an Industrial Electrician, PLC Technician, Automation Technician, or Maintenance Technician with strong electrical troubleshooting experience, we'd like to hear from you. What You’ll Work On You will be responsible for: Troubleshooting PLC-controlled production equipment Diagnosing electrical and automation failures Working with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar PLC platforms (if applicable) Supporting HMIs, VFDs, servo motors, sensors, and safety circuits Performing electrical troubleshooting using schematics and wiring diagrams Improving machine uptime and equipment reliability Installing and modifying control panels and electrical components Assisting with preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives What You’ll Bring: High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years of experience installing and maintaining building/plant control systems and their related equipment Associate’s degree, trade school, or vocational training in industrial electronics, automation, mechatronics, or a related technical field Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, relays, safety interlocks, and industrial networking protocols Ability to troubleshoot and repair control systems; basic PLC programming/editing Skilled at reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across functions Experience We Value: Industrial Maintenance PLC Troubleshooting Industrial Electrician Automation Systems Mechatronics Controls Engineering Robotics Maintenance Electrical Maintenance Manufacturing Maintenance Machine Controls Schedule & Compensation All shifts available Starting at $37.00 per hour Job Type & Application Window Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire This position will remain open until filled Benefits Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance 401(k) Retirement Plan Paid Holidays Bereavement Leave Personal Advancement Employer Information This position is being recruited by NCW on behalf of a client company.
