Department Manager

This job posting is for a position in a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee and not McDonald’s USA. The franchisee holds a license to use McDonald’s logos and food products but is a separate company and employer. All employment matters—hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling—are handled solely by the franchisee. McDonald’s USA has no involvement in any employment decisions, including interviews and hiring. Responsibilities Managers lead shifts every week, ensuring customers receive a fast, accurate, and friendly experience. Some managers also lead Departments. These managers’ responsibilities may include managing assigned Systems—such as Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management—setting goals, delegating tasks, following up, and reporting results. The Guest Service Department Manager ensures that crew and other managers deliver a great customer experience, that sales promotions are executed well, that all service staff are trained in procedures, and that the Front Counter, McCafé, and Drive‑Thru areas are organized for optimal service. The Kitchen Department Manager ensures the restaurant delivers high‑quality food quickly, that food safety standards are met, food costs are controlled, and all kitchen staff are trained in production procedures, including new menu items. The People Department Manager ensures the restaurant hires qualified crew, trains them, and schedules them to meet sales and profit goals. The manager also ensures crew members start well, receive recognition, and stay motivated throughout their tenure. Qualifications Previous managerial experience is preferred, ideally within a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment. Candidates must be positive team players, flexible with schedules, enjoy a fast‑paced environment, and be 18 years or older.
