Clinical Applications Manager, MR

Overview The Clinical Applications Manager, MR is responsible for MRI clinical activities at Akumin fixed sites. The CAM works across Akumin to develop QA/QC programs, MRSO programs, optimize scanner protocols, drive better image quality, communicate with radiologists, educate technologists, and focus on driving revenues in MRI. The focus of this role is to improve the exams performed on our MRI units in our fixed division. Akumin’s unique ability to remote into many of our units allows remote work; sites not connected or certain programs require travel and in‑person visits. Responsibilities Standardize and optimize MR scanners at fixed locations. Travel to sites or provide remote access to support in‑person visits. Teach hands‑on applications training for technologists. Manage use of Subtle AI across fixed locations and partner with Subtle applications team to ensure higher productivity. Work with local site administrators to drive higher productivity. Assist in adoption of new procedures at fixed locations. Collaborate with physicians to drive standardization of protocols at fixed locations. Collaborate with various teams to drive quality and expertise. Provide guidance on MR Safety and QA/QC. Provide technical assistance to sales and marketing. Conduct Centers of Excellence training seminars. Create learning modules for technologists. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Requirements Certificate from college or technical school. ARRT (R)(MR) certification. Expert understanding of multi‑vendor fleet capabilities (Philips, GE, Siemens). Expertise in protocol optimization for varied MRI systems from various vendors and ages. Deep understanding of MRI physics principles and pulse‑sequence optimization. Ability to identify image artifacts, change parameters, modify pulse sequences, and repeat the series without artifacts. At least 10 years of professional experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Experience working with technologists, radiologists, and administrators to drive efficiency and productivity in MRI. Ability to set up and train technologists on new procedures such as whole‑body imaging, Mp‑prostate, breast, and DTI. Understanding of MRI safety and related policies. Strong experience in delivering live, virtual, and blended learning for technologists. Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and assignments simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to articulate focused, concise, and measurable learning objectives. 40–50% travel may be required. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Preferred: MRSO certification or willingness to acquire MRSO. Preferred: 20 years of professional experience in MRI. Preferred: 10 years of clinical applications experience at leading vendors. Physical Requirements Standard office environment; may be exposed to a strong magnetic field, noise, and travel. More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk; repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs; see, speak, hear to communicate with patients. Less than 50% of the time: stoop, kneel, or crawl; climb and balance; carry and lift 10–20 lbs.
