About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in relevant specialty License: Active Virginia State or Compact RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Epic charting experience required - Cardiac monitoring and emergency response experience - Experience in PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown settings Description: We are looking for a Registered Nurse specializing in PCU. This position requires the ability to work three 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15. Experience with Epic charting is essential. The nurse will provide care for adult and geriatric patients. The typical patient ratio is 1:5. Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and management of cardiac drips without titration. The role involves IV therapy and phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central and peripheral line care. Nurses will support respiratory needs through nasal cannula and oxygen administration, as well as non-invasive airway management. The unit specializes in the care of Medical-Renal patients. The candidate must be comfortable floating within skillset as necessary. The work environment emphasizes teamwork and interdisciplinary support, including physical therapy and pharmacy services. Weekend coverage and holiday work are required as part of this position. Candidates should be prepared for a dynamic and challenging clinical setting.
