Technician

Construction Laborer Technician

The technician assembles and prepares shoring and overpass concrete forms in an outdoor yard environment so they can be shipped to construction sites for installation. This role involves frequent use of hand and power tools, reading and interpreting blueprints, and following detailed instructions to build and disassemble concrete form systems using nuts and bolts.

Responsibilities

• Pre-assemble shoring and overpass concrete forms in the yard for shipment to construction sites.
• Use hand tools and power tools to assemble and disassemble concrete form systems safely and efficiently.
• Work with nuts, bolts, and other fasteners to secure and adjust concrete forms according to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to ensure accurate assembly of formwork components.
• Follow instructions and guidance from leads and supervisors to meet project requirements and deadlines.
• Inspect assembled forms for quality, accuracy, and structural integrity before they are sent out.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and handle tools and equipment in a safe, responsible manner.
• Work effectively in outdoor conditions and adapt to varying weather while completing daily tasks.
• Collaborate with team members in the yard and construction division to support smooth operations.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and use appropriate protective equipment when operating tools and handling materials.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools and construction materials.
• Experience with assembly work, particularly assembling and disassembling structural components.
• Proficiency using hand tools and power tools in a construction or industrial setting.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and follow technical instructions.
• Background in construction installation or construction-related work.
• Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work with nuts, bolts, and other fasteners to assemble concrete forms.
• Capability to follow directions from leads and supervisors and work as part of a team.

Work Environment

This role is based primarily in an outdoor yard environment where you assemble concrete forms. You work in the elements year-round, with hot conditions during the summer and cold conditions during the winter, and should be comfortable dressing appropriately for changing weather. The position involves regular use of hand tools and power tools, handling nuts and bolts, and working around construction materials and equipment in a physically active setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fresno, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
