Entry Phlebotomist I

The role involves assisting with patient care by greeting them upon arrival and addressing any questions or concerns with care and compassion. The individual will also help maintain the integrity of the waiting area and assist with breaks when other Phlebotomists are unavailable. This position requires utilizing Phlebotomy skills to grow within the company.

Responsibilities:

• Have direct contact with patients and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence.
• Explain what to expect to patients regarding the scheduled procedure in a safe and accurate manner.
• Demonstrate excellence in customer care while focusing on process skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
• Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
• Maintain a safe and professional environment.
• Maintain required records and documentation.
• Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Required Skills:

• Ability to handle patients with care and compassion while assisting with check-ins in the lobby through either a self-service kiosk or handheld tablet.
• Willingness to work both in the lobby and in a draw room with patients to help with breaks that need to be covered.
• Perform with confidence both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
• High level of customer service experience/skills are required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy experience is required, even if just an intern/externship to learn the basics.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of client-facing customer service experience is required (Retail, Home Health Aide, etc).
• Some Phlebotomy experience is required.
• Keyboard/data entry experience is a must.
