Infrastructure Technician IIWe are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Technician II to support the installation, maintenance, and optimization of structured cabling and physical infrastructure within large-scale data center environments.This is a hands-on opportunity for a technician looking to expand their expertise in fiber optics, copper cabling, and data center infrastructure while contributing to complex, high-impact projects. The ideal candidate is technically skilled, safety-focused, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.Position DetailsPosition Type: HourlyEmployment: Contract with potential for extension or direct hireSchedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM; schedule may vary based on project requirementsLocation: Onsite in New Albany, OHFlexibility: Must be willing to work occasional evenings, weekends, overtime, or after-hours shifts as neededTravel: Occasional travel to other sites within the U.S. may be requiredCompensation: Based on experience and skill levelKey ResponsibilitiesStructured Cabling & InfrastructureInstall, test, service, and decommission structured cabling systems, including:Fiber optic cablingCopper cablingCommunications systemsLow-voltage infrastructureInstall and remove cabinets, racks, cable trays, pathways, and related data center infrastructure.Perform physical installations, removals, and infrastructure modifications with accuracy and attention to detail.Route, label, terminate, test, and commission cabling in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.Safety & QualityFollow all applicable safety requirements, site procedures, and industry best practices.Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.Perform work with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and productivity.Ensure installations meet project specifications, customer requirements, and applicable standards.Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).Technical ExecutionRead and interpret project drawings, specifications, installation documentation, and manufacturer guidelines.Apply a solid understanding of structured cabling installation, routing, labeling, testing, and commissioning.Identify potential installation issues and communicate them to supervisors or project leadership.Complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining high standards for workmanship.Team Collaboration & MentoringWork collaboratively with technicians, supervisors, project teams, and customer representatives.Assist less experienced technicians by sharing technical knowledge and best practices.Help coordinate materials, tools, equipment, and daily tasks to support project progress.Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and site personnel.Qualifications & SkillsRequiredHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalent.3–5 years of telecommunications, structured cabling, or related low-voltage experience.Data center experience is strongly preferred.Ability to safely and effectively use telecom and construction hand tools.Ability to distinguish cable colors for identification and installation.Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.Ability to work independently while following established instructions and procedures.Positive, professional attitude and ability to adapt to changing project requirements.Preferred CertificationsOSHA 10 certification preferred; certification must be obtained within 90 days if not already held.First Aid/CPR certification required within 90 days.FOA certifications preferred.BICSI cabling certifications or similar industry credentials preferred.Ideal CandidateReliable, punctual, and prepared to work.Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and sense of integrity.Comfortable working in fast-paced, changing environments.Willing to learn new technologies, techniques, and processes.Comfortable teaching and supporting less experienced team members.Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality.Flexible regarding work schedules, including occasional nights, weekends, overtime, and after-hours work.Safety-conscious and committed to following established procedures.Work Environment & Physical RequirementsThis is an active, hands-on position performed primarily in data centers and technology-focused environments.The role requires the ability to:Work primarily indoors with occasional outdoor assignments.Work in environments with moderate construction and data center noise.Stand and walk for extended periods.Regularly sit, kneel, stoop, climb, crawl, reach, talk, and hear while performing job duties.Work in tight or confined spaces and areas with raised floors.Work at elevated heights using ladders, lifts, or other approved equipment.Frequently lift and/or move materials weighing up to 25 lbs.Regularly lift and/or move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.Wear required PPE and comply with all site safety requirements.OpportunityThis position offers an opportunity for an experienced infrastructure technician to gain additional experience with advanced structured cabling and data center environments while working alongside skilled technical professionals on large-scale infrastructure projects.
