Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | Weekends and holidays as applicable to operations

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Medical Surgical/Telemetry setting, including cardiac, spine, and neuro units
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, including identification of lethal arrhythmias
• Float to other units as needed based on operational requirements
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin RN license or valid Compact RN license required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum of two years of acute care inpatient RN experience within the last three years in Medical Surgical/Telemetry
• Experience working across multiple Med/Surg unit types, including cardiac, spine, and neuro
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass a Telemetry competency exam prior to start (adult and pediatric components; passing score of 80% or higher with 100% identification of lethal rhythms; travelers have up to three attempts with conditions)
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Magnet-designated or academic medical center environment
• Familiarity with high-acuity telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Comfort with floating across multiple units in a large inpatient setting
