Speech-Language Pathologist 26/27 SY Washington Elementary School District 6 Special Services - Glendale, Arizona Job Details Job ID: 5506714 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: Jan 21, 2026 7:00 AM (UTC) Starting Date: Immediately Job Description Department: Special Services Accountable To: Director of Special Services FLSA Status: Exempt Creation/Revision Date: March 29, 2022 Summary: Provide direct or consultative services to students to help reduce or eliminate disabilities related to speech and/or language in order to derive the full benefit from the district's educational programs. Essential Functions: Provides direct speech language therapy services to students including conducting thorough screenings, assessment and diagnosis of speech, voice, and language impairments; interprets results to parents and teachers and writes appropriate recommendations and reports. Develops, implements, and monitors Individualized Education Plans for students eligible for speech and language services. Collaborates with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement therapy by making suggestions for the student's daily activities. Assists in proper referrals of individuals to agencies and specialists in the community, as appropriate. Provides information and support to parents and families when appropriate. Provides in-service education and serves as a consultant to teachers and school staff members on topics concerning speech services. Keeps thorough ongoing records for the individual student receiving therapy or other school provided speech services. Participates in professional growth activities. Establishes and maintains good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors. Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality. Other job related duties as assigned Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology. Current Arizona Standard Speech-Language Pathologist Certification from the Arizona Department of Education. Current Arizona Department of Health Speech Language Pathologist License. American Hearing and Speech Association Clinical Certification of Competence preferred. Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC). Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
