Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Thread Roller / Threadroll Operator to join our precision manufacturing team. This critical role involves operating thread rolling machinery to produce high-quality threaded fasteners and components that meet the exacting standards required in aerospace applications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, technical proficiency, and a commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards in every piece produced.

As a Thread Roller Operator, you will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of thread rolling equipment, ensuring that all fasteners and threaded components meet strict aerospace specifications and tolerances. This position requires a thorough understanding of thread rolling processes, fastener specifications, and quality control procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust thread rolling machines for various aerospace components.
• Interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, blueprints, and specifications.
• Select the appropriate dies, tooling, and machine settings based on material and thread requirements.
• Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments such as thread gauges, micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
• Verify thread dimensions, pitch, lead, concentricity, and surface finish meet customer and engineering specifications.
• Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
• Maintain accurate production records, inspection data, and traceability documentation.
• Follow AS9100 quality management system requirements and company procedures.
• Identify and report nonconforming material or equipment issues.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work areas clean and organized in accordance with 5S and safety standards.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, quality inspectors, and supervisors to resolve production issues.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience operating thread rolling equipment in a precision manufacturing environment; aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Knowledge of thread standards including UN, UNJF, metric, and customer-specific requirements.
• Proficient in the use of precision inspection equipment and thread gauging.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic computer skills for production tracking and documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing.
• Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience (where applicable).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods during the workday.
• Frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Manual dexterity required for handling small precision components and measuring equipment.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machine noise, oils, and metalworking fluids.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing production environment.
• May require overtime or weekend work to meet production schedules.
• Compliance with all company safety policies and aerospace quality standards is required.
