Must-Haves

\n

\n
• 10+ years of civil engineering experience with a focus on land development
\n
• Valid Colorado PE License
\n
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution
\n
• Proven experience managing client relationships across the full project lifecycle
\n
• Experience preparing engineering proposals - scope, fee development, subconsultant coordination, and contracts
\n
• Ability to manage project budgets, schedules, change orders, and accounts receivable
\n
• Business development experience - identifying opportunities, pursuing new clients, and growing existing relationships
\n

Nice to Have

• Experience with public agency clients, pre-application meetings, and regulatory coordination
\n
• Familiarity with market intelligence, competitor tracking, and pursuit strategy
\n
• Experience mentoring mid- to senior-level engineering staff

What You'll Own

Client Relationship Management

\n

\n
• Serve as the primary liaison between clients and production teams throughout the full project lifecycle
\n
• Proactively develop and maintain relationships with public and private clients, industry partners, and vendors
\n
• Support client retention by ensuring satisfaction and identifying future opportunities
\n
• Represent the Land Development group in internal marketing, strategic planning, and business development discussions
\n

\n

Business Development

\n

\n
• Market the firm's full suite of services to new and existing clients
\n
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with strategic goals
\n
• Track quarterly marketing reports including proposal activity, active pursuits, and client connections
\n
• Monitor competitor activity and industry trends to sharpen pursuit strategies and improve win rates
\n
• Actively participate in professional organizations and industry events to strengthen market presence
\n

Project and Proposal Management

\n

\n
• Prepare engineering proposals including scope, fee, subconsultant coordination, schedules, and contracts
\n
• Guide project execution to ensure scope, performance standards, schedules, and quality expectations are met
\n
• Manage client expectations and proactively communicate and resolve scope changes, budget impacts, and schedule shifts
\n
• Prepare, negotiate, and issue change orders for additional services
\n
• Collaborate with the Project Accountant on accurate invoicing, accounts receivable, and collections
\n

\n

Team and Industry Engagement

\n

\n
• Mentor and support the professional development of mid- to senior-level engineering team members
\n
• Maintain awareness of industry trends, emerging technologies, public policy, and local regulations affecting land development
\n
• Conduct client research and market intelligence to stay ahead of upcoming project opportunities
\n
• Review and sign/seal engineering plans developed under your direction
\n
