Certified Phlebotomy Technician Under the direction of the Department Manager and/or Phlebotomy Supervisor, the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) is responsible for specimen collection and processing and is guided by the policies and procedures of Laboratory department and the hospital. Job Duties/Responsibilities Requirements Two years prior hospital experience preferred, but not required General education level (high school) Certified Phlebotomy Technician 1 (CPT1) certificate, which meets the California Department of Health, Lab field services Current BLS certification. CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
