Senior Human Resources Business Partner Consultant

Job Title: Senior Human Resources Business Partner Consultant Industry: Nonprofit / Research Organization Location (City, State): Washington, DC Assignment Type: Contract-to-Hire Pay: $45 - $52/hour (depending on experience) Work Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM | Hybrid Schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). About Our Client: Addison Group is partnering with a mission‑driven nonprofit organization seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Business Partner to support organizational leaders through a period of growth and transition. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned HR professional who excels in both strategic consulting and hands‑on execution across a wide range of human resources functions. Job Description: The Senior Human Resources Business Partner will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership teams, providing guidance on workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, compliance, compensation programs, and organizational effectiveness. This individual will play a critical role in evaluating existing HR practices, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing solutions that support business objectives and employee success. The position requires a balance of strategic thinking and day‑to‑day operational support within a collaborative HR environment. Key Responsibilities Partner with organizational leaders to provide strategic HR guidance and recommendations on complex workforce matters. Support and execute HR initiatives related to employee relations, performance management, compensation, and talent development. Assess current HR processes and policies, identify areas for improvement, and recommend scalable solutions. Lead and contribute to cross‑functional HR projects, ensuring timely execution and successful outcomes. Analyze workforce data, trends, and employee feedback to support informed business decisions. Promote consistency in HR practices and ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations. Collaborate with HR team members to enhance service delivery, operational efficiency, and employee experience. Provide practical support for ongoing HR operations and assist with department needs as required. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required. 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including strategic HR business partnering. Prior experience serving in a consultative HR role within a mid‑size or large organization required. Strong knowledge of employee relations, compensation, performance management, talent strategy, and employment law. Experience working with ADP is required. Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) and/or advanced degree is a plus. Demonstrated ability to influence leaders and provide trusted guidance across multiple levels of an organization. Excellent communication, relationship‑building, problem‑solving, and organizational skills. Additional Details This is a Contract‑to‑Hire opportunity with long‑term potential. The HR team is currently undergoing organizational changes and is seeking an experienced professional who can provide stability, guidance, and process improvement expertise. Candidates should be comfortable balancing strategic initiatives with hands‑on HR responsibilities. Interview process consists of two virtual interview rounds.
