We are working with a publicly traded company in the Raleigh market seeking an Accounting Manager to join their Corporate Accounting Team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of accounting functions to ensure financial information is accurate, reliable, and delivered on time in compliance with U.S. GAAP. This role plays a key part in the financial reporting cycle, including managing the monthly close process, consolidating financial results, and preparing both internal and external reports.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Close & General Accounting

• Lead and manage assigned portions of the month-end close process to ensure deadlines are met and results are accurate.
• Review and approve journal entries along with supporting documentation.
• Analyze financial results, identify variances or unusual activity, and partner with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
• Oversee completion of account reconciliations in accordance with internal control requirements.
• Execute and document internal controls in compliance with SOX standards.

Financial Reporting

• Prepare and review consolidated monthly financial statements, management reports, and related schedules.
• Support the preparation of schedules and disclosures for SEC filings.
• Present and explain financial results to key stakeholders, including senior finance leadership and business partners.

Additional Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and enhancement of accounting policies, procedures, and process improvements.
• Act as a key point of contact for Corporate Accounting on projects and initiatives.
• Collaborate with finance and operations teams to meet reporting and compliance objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a small team, promoting accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA designation required.
• 4-5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including both public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and industry experience within a publicly traded environment.
• Prior supervisory experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ability to research and apply accounting guidance.
• Advanced Excel skills with experience in data analysis and modeling.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
