Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is hiring a BSN-prepared Operating Room RN with experience in ortho, neurovascular, and robotics for a 12-week day shift assignment requiring an active IL RN license.

Job Details

• Operating Room unit in a hospital setting,
• Day shift schedule (4x10 hours), 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM,
• Weekend work required,
• On-call responsibilities include weekend call (12-hour shifts) and weekday call (5 PM-11 PM, 11 PM-7 AM),
• Must be able to both scrub and circulate,
• 30-minute meal break,
• Epic EMR experience required,
• May be required to float between facilities within the health system upon manager request,

Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in hand (no emergency or pending licenses accepted),
• BSN required,
• BLS certification through AHA required,
• ACLS and CNOR preferred,
• Minimum 1 year of direct OR experience required,
• 2 years of experience required,
• Experience in ortho, neurovascular, and robotics surgery required,
• Skills checklist and 2 professional references required, with one from a Supervisor, Manager, or Charge RN within the last year,
• Northwestern Medicine and any acquired facilities must be included in employment history, if applicable,

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a broad range of surgical specialties including vascular, gynecology, plastics, neurology, orthopedic, general surgery, endoscopic, podiatry, ophthalmology, robotics, urology, ENT, thoracic, and oral surgery,
• Experience with equipment such as cell saver, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, Hana table, and Steris systems is relevant,
• Knowledge of emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, latex allergy, and malignant hyperthermia expected,
• All RTO must be submitted at the time of application and cannot be added afterward,
• Vaccination status must be included at submission,
• Candidates within a 75-mile radius are accepted at the local rate,
• First-time travelers may be considered
