REGISTERED BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN (RBT)

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) supports students in the Pre K-12 classroom setting by developing and implementing behavior intervention plans, collecting and monitoring behavioral data, and applying behavior management strategies. The RBT collaborates with school staff and works under supervision of the Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to support student success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Formulates and implements personalized behavior intervention plans.
• Designs and supports the implementation of individual and class-wide behavior intervention plans.
• Conducts measurement, assessment, and skill acquisition with the goal of behavior reduction.
• Collects behavioral data and documents and reports on data and progress.
• Applies knowledge of basic behavior principles when working with students.
• Collaborates with school teams, including students, teachers, administrators, and central office staff.
• Assists in training school teams on Behavior Intervention Plans.
• Applies understanding of basic teaching strategies.
• Meets and collaborates with a BCBA routinely.
• Maintains knowledge of current caseload and be able to discuss current concerns and interventions.
• May perform other duties assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that could likely provide the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and skills would be:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: A minimum of one (1) year experience working with individuals with Autism or related disabilities required.

Licenses/Certificates: Currently licensed as a Registered Behavior Technician by BACB Federal Board and the State of Nevada required. CPR and CPI certified preferred.

• Behavior intervention and behavior management strategies.

• Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Communicate professionally with BCBAs and other District staff.
• Consistently act in accordance with the RBT Code of Ethics.

New employees will be fingerprinted upon hire and every five years thereafter and will have $58.50 deducted from their first paycheck to help defray the cost of fingerprinting. Non-licensed employees will have $58.50 deduction when their fingerprints are completed every five years. Fingerprint fees are subject to change. .
