Restaurant Location Homeslice – Lincoln Park – Happy Hospitality 938 W Webster Avenue Chicago, IL 60614 Position Opening Bartender Job Summary Bartenders are in charge of their section behind the bar as well as on the floor. They pour craft beer, wine and mix cocktails for guests, creating a lively environment and fostering teamwork, execution, and fun. They operate daily with a strong sense of hospitality. Responsibilities Greets guests in a positive, friendly manner, making them feel welcome. Guides guests through all phases of their experience at the venue. Exhibits proper knowledge, bartending techniques and delivery of Food and Beverage offerings. Describes Food and Beverage features daily. Oversees bar maintenance and coordinates service at the bar with team members. Works alongside bussers in clearing the bar. Provides anticipatory service, anticipating guests’ needs. Communicates with management regarding customer needs, comments or incidents. Follows all procedures and policies set forth by the company, division and Health Department. Performs all opening and closing duties as assigned. Other Functions Available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth operation of the restaurant. Complies with health and food safety standards, restocks items, and cleans. Operates the cash register and answers the phone. Provides great customer service and follows company policies. Takes on other responsibilities as assigned by management. Physical Functions Ability to stand or walk for a minimum of 8 hours. Exert well‑paced mobility for periods of up to 8 hours. Lifts up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds on occasion. Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, carrying, data entry. Work in warm and cool environments. High noise levels from music, customer and employee traffic. Tolerate potential allergens: peanut, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, shellfish. Qualifications / Requirements At least 2 years of full-service, high-volume bartending experience. In‑depth knowledge of food, wine, beer and liquors. At least 21 years of age. Communicates positively and efficiently. Team player with a positive attitude. Respectful and calm under pressure. Organized, efficient, and maintains a clean work environment. Great sense of hospitality and its impact on business. Certifications Boot Squeak Certification Food Handlers Certification Compensation Details Hourly Rate: $12.62/hr (Chicago tipped minimum wage) Tips: Bartenders also receive tips.
