Credit And Collections SpecialistThe Credit and Collections Specialist will evaluate the customer credit worthiness and contact clients to collect outstanding payments. This position must strike a balance between maintaining trustful relationships, and ensuring timely payments. The Credit and Collections Specialist should always exhibit professionalism and trustworthiness. In addition, this position must possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as an ability to work independently.Key Responsibilities:Evaluate the customer accounts for credit worthiness and collect on past due amountsIdentify outstanding accountsInvestigate historical data for each outstanding invoice and work orderFind and, when necessary, update customer contacts in systems.Take appropriate actions to encourage timely paymentsProcess payments and credit refundsResolve billing and customer credit issuesUpdate account status records and collection effortsReport on collection activity and accounts receivable statusQualifications & Skills:Required:One to two years in credit, collections, or customer serviceMinimum of two-year certificate from college or technical schoolCommitment to excellence and high standards of accuracyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to prepare reports and business correspondenceDemonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentagesAbility to understand and follow written and verbal instructionsStrong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflowAbility to work independently and as a member of various teams and committeesVersatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasmDesired:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
