Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with unique needs by supporting specialized educational programs in the Saint Paul, MN area. We are seeking two compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teachers to support either a middle school setting for students with developmental cognitive delays or an elementary program focused on students identified with ASD or DCD. Both opportunities provide the chance to work within established programs alongside supportive colleagues, making a direct impact every day.
Positions Available:
- Middle School Setting 4 Program: Serve students with developmental cognitive delays (DCD), some of whom use wheelchairs or have mild behavioral needs, grades 6-8.
- Elementary Setting 3 Program: Guide a caseload of 6-9 students identified as ASD or DCD in a collaborative elementary school environment.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Current Minnesota Special Education teaching license, valid for the duration of the assignment.
- Experience working with students who have significant disabilities and cognitive delays, including familiarity with wheelchairs and assistive technology.
- Strong classroom management skills and strategies for supporting students with mild behavioral needs.
- Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with diverse learners and interdisciplinary teams.
- Flexibility, problem-solving skills, and a patient, proactive approach.
- Commitment to promoting a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs and goals.
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families to develop effective support strategies.
- Employ differentiated instruction and adaptive tools to support learning and independence.
- Monitor, document, and report student progress while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.
