Pediatric Hospitalist

Benefis Hospital in Great Falls, Montana, is seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist to join its inpatient team. This full-time position offers a block schedule and the opportunity to provide comprehensive pediatric care within a large regional health system. The role involves managing a diverse patient population, from newborns to adolescents, and collaborating with a robust team of pediatric specialists. Practice Info Inpatient team of 2 Pediatric Physicians and 2 Pediatric Nurse Practitioners 2 providers (1 physician, 1 nurse practitioner per shift) alternating 1st call every other day/night Pediatric Unit is a 14-room, 16-bed unit Population of newborns to 17 years of age Daily census approximately 6 patients, increasing during cold and flu season Level III NICU staffed with Neonatologists and Neonatal Nurse Practitioners Responsibilities Perform inpatient pediatric rounds Perform newborn rounds Respond to the ED for pediatric patients Be comfortable with occasional short-term pediatric ventilator management post-op Care for a wide variety of conditions, including surgical, respiratory, pediatric/adolescent psych patients, NAS babies, patients with chronic conditions, some PICU, DKA, complex cardiac conditions, and trauma Opportunity to teach Medical Students from Touro University Opportunity for a clinical faculty appointment with University of Washington School of Medicine (WWAMI faculty Appointment) Compensation Nationally competitive shift-based compensation structures with additional performance bonuses Generous sign-on / relocation bonus Annual $5,000 CME + $1,000 license/dues 5-7% retirement match xmvmafu + 457b program Benefits Paid malpractice + tail Physician wellness programs focused on personal and professional development Monthly meetings with highest-level physician and administrative leadership to bring ideas forward and solve issues Shift & Schedule Full time = 182 shifts per year Schedule is typically 7 on/7 off schedule or 14 on/14 off 24 hour shifts (home call) Requirements J-1 waiver sponsorships available for specific specialties with established immigration council
